Mijas Hotel Guide

Mijas is situated in the Spanish province of Malaga and the beautiful resort is split into two different regions. There is Mijas Costa and Mijas Pueblo, they are opposites as Costa is a bustling, busy beachfront style resort and Pueblo is known as one of the prettiest villages throughout Spain.
The Pueblo region boasts a very typical Andaluz village with whitewashed buildings sitting on a high mountainside, the villager’s view is enviable as it is a breathtaking scene looking out across the blue Mediterranean Sea. The background sitting behind the village is just as lovely consisting of beautiful pine forests. Mijas Pueblo has its fair share of restaurants, bars and even clubs but it has not become completely commercialised and has retained its serenity.
The village looks as though it belongs on a postcard with its white houses, cobbled streets and blooming flowers decorating balconies everywhere. There are many handcrafted items for sale including wicker and linen, the local honey, bread and almond cake has a brilliant reputation.
Mijas Costa sits 15 minutes away by car from Mijas Pueblo and it is a thriving beach resort offering water sports, restaurants and plenty of nightlife. Dining at a beachside venue can be achieved by visiting the Mijas Playa restaurant; they have a very extensive menu with delicious food and refreshing wine.
